The Legislative Session for 2008 adjourned (Sine Die) Friday June 27th. The session can be termed a success in that we were able to move HB2117 (Ordinary Disability), for CORP members, to the Governor's desk for signature and we were able to stave off bills that were simply bad policy for the state and our membership.
On June 23rd, 2008, Louise Caddell won the election for the CWA District 7 Vice President, at the CWA conference in Las Vegas, Nevada.
On Saturday May 24th, D' Phillips, John Stair, Robert Swift , Tim Clark and Lu Ebratt attended the festivities at Purple Heart Park in Tucson Arizona to gather signatures for Marian McClure for Corporation Commission. Other politicians seeking AZCOPS support took the opportunity to "meet and greet” with our group.
On Thursday May 8th, The Arizona Probation Officers Association joined their fellow law enforcement brothers and sisters in support of Tim Nelson (D) for the Maricopa County Attorney Race .
